If you didn't have any argument with her friend before, or anything making her (or her friend's friend) feel angry or embarrassed before that you could think of, it's supposed she should be telling the truth. Did you ever have any fine conversation with that girl? If not, it probaby might not be a good idea. Otherwise, give yourself more confidence and go ahead! Oh...by the way, how old are you? I might think it would sound a bit scary if you (or she) is younger than 14 years old.
